Betsy & Luke - ENGAGED - Yards Park & Library of Congress

These two have a deep love for architecture, and each other! Luke proposed at the Library of Congress last year with the help of their friends who held big signs saying "WILL YOU MARRY" and Luke holding a sign saying "ME". I loved hearing that story as I chatted with them over coffee in Annapolis.

We did their engagement session on a rainy weekend in D.C. The plan was to start at Yards Park and shoot at the awesome walking bridge, and end at the Library of Congress where they got engaged. You have to get permission to shoot at all of these places and Betsy had worked on getting it for this day only! It POURED rain as we drove to Yards Park and I kept crossing my fingers for it to stop. After waiting in the car for a little, it finally let up!

It was the perfect time to break out the clear umbrellas I have that I'm just loving the more I get to use them. As we took an uber to the Library of Congress, the rain started coming down harder. It was totally ok because obviously, the Library of Congress is all inside. I had never been before and it was so magnificent! It was amazing to be there right as they opened and to be the only people there!

I had such a fun time getting to know these two and I can't wait for their big day in July!
